About the Captain and Boat

About the Captain:
Dan McGivney has been a licensed captain for 27 years but has fished his entire life. He is a part-time charter boat captain for his boat the Megan Beth. He has been fishing out of the Manasquan Inlet in New Jersey for 35 years now and fishes in the New York Waters to Cape May.

Dan McGivney has also placed in many local fishing tournaments. One of his most memorable winnings was in the Jersey Coast Shark Anglers (JCSA) Mako Tournament. In 1995, Dan and his crew caught the largest Mako weighing 456 lbs. Dan is also involved in many fishing organizations in his area. He is a former president for Jersey Coast Shark Anglers, is the current president of Greater Point Pleasant Charter Boat Association, RFA, NJOA, and NACO. Dan is a very experienced fisherman as well as a great captain who makes sure his crew has an enjoyable time while fishing aboard his vessel.

About the Boat:
The Megan Beth is a 38 foot Henriques Sport Fisherman with power twin Diesel 375 HP Turbo charged Caterpillar engines. The boat is well equipped with heat and air conditioning, radar, sonar, GPS, single sideband, a life raft, and meets all Coast Guard Safety requirements. The Megan Beth also has a comfortable salon, a microwave, AM/FM stereo, 140 square feet cockpit, a live well, and built in fishing boxes.
